Development and Characterization of Pullulan-Carboxymethyl Cellulose Blend Film for Packaging Applications

نویسندگان

چکیده

Edible packaging materials have widespread applications in pharmaceutical industries. In this study, the physical, thermal, colour, mechanical, and water barrier properties of a novel edible film based on pullulan (PUL) carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) were investigated. The blend films made by solution casting method with 3 g total solid content. following percentages 100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75, 0/100 used to prepare films. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) analyze interaction between PUL CMC. At level 75/25 percentage PUL, CMC showed lowest EAB% (5.55%), highest values for TS (17.30 MPa), WVP value ( 4.12 × 10 − m-1s-1Pa-1), contact angle 63.43°. By increasing concentration, became slightly greenish yellowish but appeared transparent UV blocking ability. This study reveals that (PUL/CMC) has good potential can be producing protect quality products interesting specifications.

Preparation and Characterization of a Bionanopolymer Film for Packaging Applications (a Case Study: Walnut Packaging)

The carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) film were prepared by adding three levels of nanoclay particles (0.5, 1 and 3%) using solution casting evaporation method. The incorporation of nanoclay on mechanical, water vapor permeability, and oxygen barrier properties of CMC/PVA-based film was investigated. The best result was obtained through the nanocomposite film contain 3% nano...

Preparation and Characterization of Pullulan-Soy Protein Concentrate Biocomposite Film

The non-biodegradable nature of plastic packaging has brought about an attention in bio-basedpackaging materials. Edible composite films were prepared using soy protein concentrate (SPC) and pullulan(PUL) biopolymer at five different ratio (100:0; 70:30; 50:50; 30:70 and 0:100) with glycerol as plasticizer bycasting-evaporation method. The thickness, mechanical properties, water vapor permeabil...

Synthesis and Characterization of ‎Carboxymethyl Cellulose/Polystyrene ‎Core-Shell Nanoparticles by Miniemulsion ‎Polymerization

The first stage to have access to a reservoir is the drilling operation. The proper development of this operation plays a major role in increasing productivity. It must be pointed out that the drilling fluid (mud) is pivotal in achieving this objective. Among these fluids, water-based fluids are the most common ones, which have been utilized to drill approximately 80% of all wells and are m...
